That’s right! The newest Tomb Raider game with the ever sexy Lara Croft will have multiplayer according to a tweet by Karl Stewart of Crystal Dynamics.
Traditionally, Tomb Raider has been a single player experience but it seems this new reboot will be taking things to the multiplayer level. No actual details on how this will play out available yet but I will let you all know as soon as I do!

This game looks effing awesome. If there’s a PC version I may reinstall Windows on a separate HDD or something, but where I’d really like to see it shine is on the Vita. The only games I have for my Vita are Hatsune Miku Project Diva ƒ, Gravity Rush, and Touch my Katamari (as well as, with the help of homebrew, the original 3 PSP Project Diva games). I really don’t play my Vita much due to work and such, but if TR:Survival were to come out I’d so totally get it.

Whoever decided that there should be a multiplayer for this game is a retard.
I guess every game getting multiplayer first GOW now TR. Its just away to keep the game lasting more then a few weeks, hopefully its turns out good not sure what type of multiplayer they have in mind for TR, who knows can end up being something fun. As long as the singleplayer experience is water down by this then all good with me.
I don’t see any problem with adding multiplayer to single player games. Sure it seems strange at first if it’s not implemented from the first of the series, but like Drez said, developers are just giving you more content to help the game last longer.
And as long as it doesn’t harm the single player experience in any way then I don’t see why not. Metal Gear didn’t have multiplayer but it sure as hell made that game more fun to have it when they added it. :]
The thing is, we have seen countless examples of singleplayer franchises that added multiplayer when it did harm to the singleplayer experience. I think Tomb Raider will be such a game.

I just hope that there’s no MP only trophies. I hate that, unless it’s as simple as “Play MP” like Uncharted does.
Adding more MP trophies (and achievements I suppose) with DLC doesn’t bug me.
I just want to have the chance to get my platinum without playing some tedious competitive that I do not enjoy and will never do to get a platinum.
I have nothing against them doing MP. Especially since the MP is handled by another developer.
